Artist's Description
A historic legend the Ghost Rider Mountain. The ghost shadows only come out in the afternoon sun, a distinctive horse and rider on the face of Hosmer mountain, some say the ghost of an angry Indian Chief and his daughter, and at times the wind can sound like a woman crying. As legend goes in 1887 a man by the name of Fernie started courting an Indian princess in order to find the source of her shining black beaded necklace which he knew to be coal. The Chief agreed to show him on the condition he marry his daughter, once Fernie found this source he refused to marry the princess. This Chief was angered by this and put a curse on the valley, it would suffer from fire, flood, and famine. Many disasters occurred over the years in Fernie B.C., fires, floods, and famine. In 1964 members of the Kootenai tribe assembled in Fernie for the ceremonial lifting of the Fernie Curse.

Photography is limitless and ever learning, I find myself seeing pictures in almost...
